This collection currently includes grown-up specimens, most of which flower and fructify regularly. There are also many young specimens recently introduced, which are kept in vases, in the glasshouses and also outdoors, waiting for their final location.

The genera of Palm cultivated in the Catania Botanical Gardens are Archontophoenix, Arenga, Butia, Chamadorea, Chamaerops, Erythea, Howea, Jubaea, Livistona, Phoenix, Ravenea, Rhapis, Sabal, Syagrus, Trachycarpus, Trithrinax, Washingtonia and Wodyetia.
